Yes.. a new standard is up and coming, called DisplayPort. Companies like Samsung and Dell will be launching 30 inch LCD monitors with DisplayPorts. These high-end monitors boast screen resolutions 2650x1600 with 10-bit color depth. Data rate for such high-res would go as high as 10.8Gbps.
Looks like everyone is up to change VGA cards, monitors in Q2 2008.
