The Human Calendar

Cryptocurrencies and Block-chain

The crazy rallies of block-chain cryptocurrencies in 2017 has been a crazy ride in parabolic nature.
Its only hours to Christmas 2017, it is very likely for Bitcoin to break out over US$20K and testing an unknown high.

All the other Alt coins such as Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple, Monero, Lisk, Dash (just to name a few) have all gone up in leaps and bounds.  Even the Dogecoin are hovering at all-time-highs

The recent correctly was short lived, and prices returned back to high levels barely within 24 hours.

The correction will give new cash injection from fiat currencies into bitcoin, and when bitcoin runs up again, people will sell bitcoin and buy alt-coins, pushing alt-coins even higher.

These cycles will definitely show record numbers for crypto-currencies/tokens for 2018!

Watch for it!

Summer CPU War

Summer CPU War

With both Intel and AMD launching their new flagship desktop CPUs and platforms... consumers can once again re-spark the love for desktop.

These new high-end desktop platforms wont come cheap, but it seems that there is a Cores war. My Cores are bigger and better than yours..... AMD's Threadripper CPU will house 16 cores /32 threads.

Whats more exciting is AMD's platform will allow for 64 lanes of PCI-e 3.0

"Having 64 lanes of PCI Express on Threadripper could be an important differentiation point for the platform, offering the ability to run quad GPUs at full x16 speeds, without the need of any PLX-style bridge chips. You could also combine a pair of x16 graphics cards, and still have 32 lanes left for NVMe storage, 10 GigE networking devices, multi-channel SAS controllers, etc. And that doesn’t include any additional lanes that the X399 chipset may end up providing. We still can’t wait to see what motherboard vendors like ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte create with all that flexibility."

Whats more, the Threadripper price will be very competitive, should give Intel I9 a run for the money.

MesoGlue - conductive glue

Electronics uses solder to bind components together on a circuit board.  But now, there is MesoGlue,  a new adhesive that could replace soldering.

Developed by scientists from the University of North Florida and Northeastern University, it’s a conductive glue that can attach items together with a metal bond without having to use high heat the way traditional soldering requires.

Coined the metallic glue, it offers several advantages:
  • There is no risk of heat damage to components
  • The complexity of the soldering process is eliminated
  • Components are merely pressed on to attach

But how to you remove the glue to replace bad components - nobody knows.. haha

Transparent Smartphones

Transparent Smartphones

Inventors, Jung Won Seo, Jae-Woo Park, Keong Su Lim, Ji-Hwan Yang and Sang Jung Kang, who are scientists at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, have created the world's first transparent computer chip.
The chip, known as (TRRAM) or transparent resistive random access memory, is similar to existing chips known as (CMOS) or metal-oxide semiconductor memory, which we use in new electronics.
The difference is that TRRAM is completely clear and transparent. What is the benefit of having transparency?
"It is a new milestone of transparent electronic systems," says Jung Won Seo. "By integrating TRRAM with other transparent electronic components, we can create a total see-through embedded electronic systems."
The technology could enable the windows or mirrors in your home to be used as computer monitors and television screens.
This technology is expected to be available within 3 to 4 years.

Short-Throw Projector - The new lifestyle visual display

Short-Throw Projector

Gone are the days where you need distance to mount the projector so that you can project a picture on your wall.  Short-throw projectors will soon become the de facto standard, giving your living room a much desired minimalist look.  You still need the projector sitting somewhere, but it is now close to the wall.

Sony recently announced (at CES 2017) one that can throw a 100-inch image on the wall at 4K resolutions and HDR.

Expected to go on sale in April at a hefty US$25K

If you are more conventional, Sony also launching it's FIRST OLED TV with sound system embedded within the screen.  It will also feature the new Dolby Vision HDR which will support new streaming and new Ultra HD Bluray players/discs.  No price and availability announced yet.

Today I learnt about a site called SEMrush which lets you scan for your domain, to see how competitive it is...

This is good for researching your niche (if you are doing network marketing).  In this age of the internet, digital marketing is fabulous...
