ASUS notebook BIOS update

Today I faced a challenge.  A friend bought an expensive Asus Tachi 21 some months ago.  However, the battery died and can only use on AC power.  However, the machine auto upgraded to Windows 10, and the dual screen NO LONGER works.  After searching around, it appears there is a BIOS fix ( version 211 vs 203 that is on the notebook).

However trying to update it use the BIOS' easy flash or Windows Winflash all failed as it required minimum 20% battery power to flash the BIOS.  So it appears the only solution is to spend money and fix the battery before full functionality can be achieved.  Thats a weird setup.

Anyway with a way to by-pass the battery check to force an BIOS update? thanks

Installing LAMP and Wordpress on Windows 10

Last night, my website got lost - mainly because of my carelessness, and failure to document.

So I have decided I will rebuild a new website from the ground up, and perhaps do more, like enabling Wordpress multi-site which I did not do the first time around.

I may even publish an tiny ebook describing the method.

The high level steps

1. Install LAMP - use uniform server

2. Prep for wordpress install

3. Install wordpress 

4. configure multi-site

5. configure domain name and IP

6. Configure LAMP

This blog will be updated regularly

Service Disrupted

Lioncity.tk had a disaster. The database was accidentally overwritten, hence the whole site has "disappeared" so to speak. The domain is redirected here to Everythingbinary, as I do not have time to redo or restart the Lioncity site.

I will have to rethink the process of installing Wordpress again.
