10Gbps Broadband is Available in Singapore
Many ISP has started offering 10 Gbps broadband service. (ie. Wifi for your home)
They will come and replace your optinal terminal point with a 10 Gbps version, with built-in 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps port.... they will usually throw in a free router or mesh routers that can take in 10-Gbps input and offer the latest Wifi7 standards. One router brand is called Eero (made by Amazon), and is pretty neat.
The cheapest offering in Singapore is from Simba. Not sure of the quality.... but ViewQwest's offering although more expensive, is quite good - to my knowledge.
you may have to invest in 10Gbps Switch and 2.5Gbps switch to connect to more devices - particularly to your desktop PC or laptops (which you need to add 10Gbps or 2.5Gbps interface) or NAS that come with the faster ports.
Old routers and switches usually only support up to 1Gbps. Your LAN cable may need to change... Cat 6A or Cat 7 should suffice.
Do NOT use your LAN on your TV. TV RJ45 LAN usually only supports 10mbps speeds... far slower than the wifi speeds of 300mbps. Unless TV start shipping with faster RJ-45 ports or USB 3.0 (that can be used for a dongle to RJ45) or Wifi7 on TV.... I'm afraid, you are stuck with 300mbps at best on TV wifi.
if you have an Apple TV or Mac mini... make sure you have better networking port to support at least 2.5Gbps
